Kodak moments

Kodak my new Alaskan Malamute:) New to me as of March 1st anyway. He was born January 1st 2011.

His first day at his new home.
His third day home working the camera.
Three months old. About one month after coming to his new home. This is pretty much his first hike longer then a couple blocks.
Three months old taking a pooch snooze on a friends futon. Everybody else sat on the floor because they didn't want to disturb his cuteness.

Four months old after a bath and not looking to pleased about it. Hooray for Yoda ears!

Mystery Canyon!!!

Mystery Canyon in Southern Utah...

This is, by far, my favorite slot canyon I've done so far. Only a few people are allowed through each day so you'll need to wake up early to get to the visitor center to get your permits.

You'll encounter some good rappels (13 in total and up to about 150' I believe, so you'll need two ropes), a couple of the rappels are over waterfalls, you'll also get to see indian ruins and gorgeous scenery.

Big rappel over minor waterfall.

Looking oh so serious about the next rappel.

Last rappel over a waterfall into the middle of The Narrows.

Lone Peak

My old climbing partner from Utah. The guy is a complete badass, although he is using my jacket because he got cold... Just sayin man;)
This is Lone Peak which is a 7 mile gruesome hike up a mountain that we have to start at about 6:30 in the morning just to have a chance to climb and get down before or slightly after dark. We've yet to complete it but plan to go back and get it.

Another point of view from the last pic. That's the SLC valley to the right and the Provo valley to the left.

New Years 2010

The last sunset of 2010. It was quite the race and honestly I missed the best shot. But still it was worth it.

2010 was a good year and much was accomplished. I moved to CO, I broke my leg jumping off a building (awesome sauce), met new people, and actually accomplished a few goals.

SnowScape

Decided to take a little snowshoeing journey up Little Cottonwood Canyon before all the snow melted.

Alta Brighton Ridge

I decided to go do a little reconnaissance of Albion Basin a few days ago to see how the wild flowers where coming along. Well the flowers aren't coming along... yet. There's still snow on the ground there. So instead of just bailing off the mountain I decided to pick a random direction and head up. I made it to the top of the ridge running between Alta and Brighton and traversed it for a few hundred yards until I found this dead tree that peaked my interest. I think I need to lighten the photo a bit but other then that I think it turned out rather nice. Another successful day up the ever rewarding Little Cottonwood Canyon.

Zion National Park

I took a trip to Zion National Park this past weekend with my good friend Brian and ended up with some great experiences and photos. We completed 3 slot canyons ( Keyhole, Pine Creek, Spry) all without wetsuits, despite the insistent urging of the park rangers. We also did the short hike to Emerald Pools that resulted in a good number of successful photo encounters. The photo above is the view from our campsite.
